Bossov Ballet Theatre (BBT) at Maine Central Institute (MCI) is delighted to present its highly anticipated annual production of The Nutcracker at the historic Waterville Opera House on December 13, 14, and 15.
Year after year, this timeless ballet continues to engage audiences of all ages with its elegant choreography, vibrant costumes, and the remarkable talent of BBT’s high school performers.
The Nutcracker has become a hallmark of holiday celebrations in the U.S., and BBT’s production strikes a balance between tradition and innovation, offering fresh interpretations while preserving the magic and beauty that audiences have cherished for decades.
“Our Nutcracker is more than a performance; it’s a community tradition and a rite of passage for our dancers,” says Getman. “This year, we are happy to welcome many new faces to our cast, with dancers joining us from across the U.S., Mexico, and Japan. Their diverse backgrounds bring fresh energy to the production, making this year’s Nutcracker special.”
Bossov Ballet Theatre, renowned as Maine’s Russian premier ballet company, sets itself apart by featuring an international cast of high school students who train rigorously in a professional setting. Their commitment and artistry have earned BBT accolades as a leader in pre-professional ballet training.
