Pihcintu Multinational Girls Chorus

January 10, 3:00 PM
Free

War-torn villages, refugee camps, famine, and political upheaval were once the daily reality for many of the young singers who would eventually find safety, companionship, and harmony within the Pihcintu Multinational Girls Chorus. Though the memory of danger and loss never fully disappears, the healing power of music has helped these resilient young women learn to trust, hope, and laugh again.

Founded in Portland, Maine — an ever-growing hub for international resettlement — the chorus brings together girls from across the globe to sing as one. Conceived by award-winning producer, musician, and songwriter Con Fullam, Pihcintu unites voices from Cambodia, Congo, El Salvador, Egypt, Kenya, Somalia, Sudan, Uganda, Vietnam, the British West Indies, and many more, along with girls whose families have lived in Maine for generations. Their presence is transformative, and their music touches the hearts of all who hear them.

Admission is free, but reservations are required.
