Harold Stover Organ Recital

FreeIn this concert, Harold Stover will bring to life Moody Memorial Chapel's historic Skinner Pipe Organ. A native of Latrobe, PA, Stover graduated from The Juilliard School in New York City.
Now retired from full time church music work after having served as Organist and Director of Music at Second Presbyterian Church in New York and Woodfords Congregational Church in Portland, he presently pursues an active career as a free-lance organist and conductor. He presently directs the Portland-based chorus Renaissance Voices and serves on the faculty of the Portland Conservatory of Music.
His activity as an organ recitalist spans half a century and includes concerts on most major New York series, at The National Cathedral in Washington, Westminster Abbey in London, Harvard and Princeton universities, and many other distinguished venues. The New York Times praised is “multiplicity of talents” and he has made ten appearances as organist and/or composer on Pipedreams, American Public Media’s radio program of organ music.
His compositions include organ, choral, and chamber music. They are published by Augsburg-Fortress, ECS, MorningStar, and Paraclete presses and recorded on the ACA Digital, Albany, and Gloriae Dei Cantores labels.
