Beginner Clay: Hand Building Techniques

Have you always wanted to work with clay, but you’re not sure where to start? This engaging two-part class will focus on key hand building techniques that are perfect for beginner and experienced clay artists alike. In the first class, you will use a slab roller, which works like a rolling pin to create large, flat sheets of clay. Using these sheets as a foundation, you will learn how to construct a vessel like a vase or candle holder. In the second class, you will focus on overglazing: using brushes and sponging techniques to create depth, decoration, and focal points.
Class continues Thursday, September 15, 5:30 p.m. - 7:00 p.m.
Cost: $75. This workshop is eligible for the Youth Arts Access Fund.
