Beginning Wheel Throwing
January 10, 2018, 5:30 PM – 7:30 PM

This 6-week pottery class will teach students the basics of throwing clay on the wheel. The class will start with learning clay basics and expand to cover creating mugs, bowls, plates, and other objects based on student interest. skills that will be covered include centering, shaping, trimming, handle making, and decoration/glazing. Students will also assist with loading of the kilns to understand the process. The instructor will work actively with each student as they navigate all the basic aspects of wheel throwing. The class will be limited to 6 students so each student may have a dedicated wheel. No experience necessary! Registration is required.
Class meets Wednesdays: January 10,17, 24, 31 and February 7 & 21. (No class Feb. 14.) from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m.
Fee: $175
