Celebrity Life Drawing: Peter Garrett
May 15, 2018, 5:30 PM – 8:00 PM
$5Join us for celebrity life drawing series capturing the poses of local “celebrities” at CSA. This month’s special guest model is Peter Garrett.
Peter Garrett has lived in Winslow half his life, though he doesn’t sound like it (he’s British). He met his wife in Bermuda and, after adventures here and there, insisted she take him home to the 100 acres of her childhood. An earth scientist by training, hydrogeologist by profession, he is now retired. He became well known locally with Kennebec Messalonskee Trails.
He is now the northern New England coordinator of Citizens Climate Lobby (CCL) volunteers. He meets regularly with our Members of Congress to urge them to legislate an economy-building health-improving plan that can serve as a Reagan-like “insurance policy” against the perceived threats of the changing climate. It is called Carbon Fee & Dividend. It will level the playing field for energy sources to power our every need, speeding the new industrial revolution already underway towards renewables. Ask him about it!
Seasoned and aspiring artists are invited to participate in the life drawing program hosted by common street arts. this program provides a unique opportunity for emerging and established artists to hone their drawing skills in a supportive environment. Participants bring their media of choice: charcoal, pastels, paint, clay, etc. and CSA provides the chairs, model, and camaraderie.
Celebrity life drawing sessions are open to all levels of experience and are with without formal instruction. Scholarships available to high school students. For more information call 872-ARTS or email serena@watervillecreates.orgREGISTER
