Community Day and Emotional Value Auction at Colby Museum

July 31, 2021, 12:00 PM4:00 PM

Free

Join us for Community Day, a celebration of the Colby Museum’s two new exhibitions—Inside Out: The Prints of Mary Cassatt and Bob Thompson: This House Is Mine. All are welcome for a day of fun, with looking activities in the galleries, art-making projects and performances with Lunder Institute Residential Fellows, music from the Ideal Maine Social Aid & Sanctuary Band, outdoor games, summer foods, as well as some terrific activities created by our community partners.

As part of this event, Lunder Institute Resident Fellow and “Experience Broker” Adriane Herman is orchestrating her fourth Emotional Value Auction. This non-monetized auction allows participants to pass along something that might be challenging to release to an appreciative recipient. “Bids” take the form of written statements of interest or desire; no money changes hands. To release something or otherwise participate in the auction, please click for further instructions.

This event is free and open to all, supported by Friends of Art.

Please note: The area around the museum is under construction. All visitors must now enter the museum through the Bixler Art and Music Center. A map and revised directions to the museum are at colby.edu/museum/visit/.
