Daytime Revolution

October 9, 4:45 PM

$8 – $12

Two Screenings: 4:45 p.m. + 7:00 p.m.

Celebrate John Lennon's 84th birthday with Daytime Revolution, a documentary about one extraordinary week in February 1972 when the revolution WAS televised. Daytime Revolution takes us back in time to the week that John Lennon and Yoko Ono co-hosted the iconic Mike Douglas Show, at that time the most popular program on daytime television. Lennon and Ono handpicked their guests, including Chuck Berry, George Carlin, Yippie founder Jerry Rubin, Black Panther chairman Bobby Seale, and nascent consumer protection guru Ralph Nader. John and Yoko’s version of daytime TV was a radical take on the traditional format, incorporating candid Q+A sessions with their transfixed audience, frank conversations about hot-button issues like police violence and women’s liberation, impromptu conceptual art events, and of course, one-of-a-kind musical performances.

(Not Rated,  108 min.)
