FREE FILM SCREENING TO FOSTER CONVERSATIONS ON BIG FEELINGS AND EMOTIONS
Kennebec Behavioral Health (KBH) invites children, caregivers, educators, and community members who serve as trusted adults in children’s lives to a special free screening of a beloved Pixar film centered on “big emotions” on May 9, 2026. The film screening will be hosted in Johnson Hall’s 400+ seat, newly renovated theater located at 280 Water Street in Gardiner, Maine.
This family-centered event is designed to bring the community together to explore the theme of “big emotions” and better understand the complex emotions children experience. Through the lens of Pixar’s engaging storytelling, attendees will gain insight into how emotions shape behavior, relationships, and communication. The screening aims to create a welcoming space for meaningful dialogue.
Following the film, attendees are invited to participate in a facilitated panel discussion focused on practical tools and strategies to help children—and the people who support them—navigate emotions in healthy and constructive ways. Attendees will also receive take-home resources, tools for learning, and fun giveaways sponsored by local businesses.
This special screening is made possible through the generous support of our presenting sponsor, Kennebec Savings Bank, along with GEAR Parent Network, Coutts Brothers, and other valued local sponsors.
The event is free and open to the public. Sponsorship opportunities remain available for local businesses and organizations interested in supporting children’s mental health and community wellness.
