Home Movie Day

October 17, 2015, 12:00 AM4:00 PM

Free

Community members are invited to bring their Super 8, 8mm, and 16mm films to Railroad Square Cinema, where technicians will inspect and project them on the big screen for all to share in the experience of discovery. Home Movie Day has been celebrated worldwide since 2002, providing an opportunity to see what’s on those enigmatic reels of film, perhaps passed from one generation to the next, stored in a box at the back of a closet. Submissions will be inspected and projected in the order that they are received, and people are invited to attend as little or as much of the event as they would like, regardless of whether they submit a film.

This event is presented by the Maine Film Center and Colby College Cinema Studies and is funded in part by a grant from the Unity Foundation and Waterville Creates!
