HOUSEKEEPING FOR BEGINNERS
April 19
Dita, despite never aspiring to be a mother, finds herself compelled to raise her girlfriend’s two daughters–Mia, a tiny troublemaker, and Vanesa, a rebellious teenager. You might imagine that all is not smooth sailing, but if you’ve seen either of director Goran Stolevski’s previous films, Of an Age and You Won’t Be Alone, both shown to adoring audiences at the Maine Film Center, you know you’re in for “a phenomenal triumph” (Screen Daily). “This makeshift family is an infectious joy to behold”–Reel and Roll. Winner of the Queer Lion at the most recent Venice International Film Festival.
In Macedonian, Romany, Albanian and French with English subtitles.
