In the Shadow of Autocracy: Ukraine’s Fight for Self-Determination

February 23, 12:00 PM

Oleksandr Tyutyunnyk will provide an insider's view of the War in Ukraine. His knowledge, education and training in the Ukrainian military has given him a unique perspective of Russia's aggression and the devastating war in Ukraine.

Oleksandr believes the state of Democracy in Ukraine is strong. The problem, according to Oleksandr, is that outside players impacting Ukraine's government largely do not interact directly with the Ukrainian Civil society, volunteer organizations, and the idealistic youth.

Oleksandr was in the Soviet Military in Ukraine until 1993. He has worked for Coca Cola in Atlanta, and earned a Master's Degree at the University of Maine. He currently works for the Orono School Department.

Lunch Options:

  • Half Wrap: Curry Chicken, Chicken Caesar, Avocado Turkey, or Falafel.
  • Side: Demi-salad, Caesar Salad, or Tortellini.

There is no need to register unless you are ordering lunch. Lunch costs $16. Lunch includes a half wrap, a side dish, and a cookie.
