Open Drawing & Painting Night
November 2, 2016, 5:30 PM – 8:00 PM
Seasoned and aspiring visual artists are invited to participate in a newly expanded Common Street Arts program dedicated to drawing, painting, and sculpting. Weekly offerings rotate between drawing or painting the nude, working with still life arrangements, and capturing the poses of local “celebrities” in costume. Sessions are open to all levels of experience and are without formal instruction.
All are welcome. No previous experience is necessary! Participants bring their media of choice: charcoal, pastels, paints, clay, etc. Common Street Arts provides art horses and chairs.
These sessions are held on the first, third, and fourth Wednesdays of the month. The cost is $15 per session per person or five sessions for $50. Advance registration is encouraged, but not required.
First and Third Wednesdays: Life Drawing / Painting with a Nude Model
- Practice drawing and/or painting the human figure. Develop and refine your artistic skills while working from a model holding poses of varying lengths.
Fourth Wednesdays: The Clothes Make the Model
- Draw and/or paint a local “celebrity” wearing one of the many wonderful costumes owned by the Waterville Opera House. Models and costumes will vary each month.
