Opening Day Artist Conversation for Alex Katz: Theater and Dance

August 16, 2022, 10:30 AM

Free

In celebration of the Colby College Museum of Art exhibition, Alex Katz: Theater and Dance, join us for an opening day conversation between artist Alex Katz, curator Robert Storr, and Michael Novak, Artistic Director of Paul Taylor Dance Company, moderated by Colby Museum Katz Consulting Curator Levi Prombaum.

Storr and Novak will join Katz to discuss how the exhibition came together, highlight the extraordinary designs, sets, and paintings on view, and share more about Katz’s indelible contributions to the worlds of experimental dance and theater during the last six decades, including his collaborations—more than sixteen original productions—with the legendary Paul Taylor.

There will be opportunities to view the exhibition and enjoy refreshments in the museum lobby, before and after the conversation in Given Auditorium.
