SASQUATCH SUNSET
April 19
Who would have guessed that a wacky, almost indescribable film about a talking colony of Sasquatches would be the toast of this year’s Sundance Film Festival? But it was, and here it is: In the misty forests of North America, a family of Sasquatches–possibly the last of their enigmatic kind–embark on an absurdist, epic, hilarious, and ultimately poignant journey over the course of one year. These shaggy and noble giants fight for survival as they find themselves on a collision course with the ever-changing world around them. “It’s a masterpiece. From writer/director brothers David and Nathan Zellner, the film follows a family of sasquatches over the course of a year in their lives. If that premise sounds too silly to be taken seriously… good. That’s part of the point”–Clint Gage, IGN.
