Two Screenings: September 28 at 7:00 p.m. and September 29 at 12:00 p.m.
In a surrealist, steampunk world, Krank (Daniel Emilfork), a mad and aging scientist who lacks the ability to dream, orders his Cyclopes henchmen to kidnap children from the nearby port city so he can steal their dreams for himself. When little Denrée (Joseph Lucien) is kidnapped, his adopted brother and carnival strongman One (Ron Perlman) sets out to rescue him. With help from orphan girl Miette (Judith Vittet), One faces off against Krank, the Cyclopes, and a legion of clones (all played by the inimitable Dominique Pinon), in order to save his little brother. From director duo Marc Caro and Jean-Pierre Jeunet (Amélie, Delicatessen), The City of Lost Children is a captivating essential for fans of steampunk and French surrealism alike—and anyone looking for a uniquely good time at the movies.
