The Year to Save the Earth: A Musical and Multimedia Experience With Jim Scott
May 11, 4:00 PM
$20Please join us for this fun and inspiring event! Former member of the Paul Winter Consort, Jim Scott will lead us with powerful songs and striking projected images. Jim brings warmth and humor in his jazz and world music influenced songs. There will be many invitations to join in the singing, to celebrate what's beautiful, amazing, and fragile about our Earth. A prolific composer, guitarist, and singer, Scott was awarded an NEA grant to present this multimedia concert.
As a member of the Paul Winter Consort, Jim was composer of their celebrated Missa Gaia (“Earth Mass”) and sang their anthem song “Common Ground.” He has toured the world, recorded nine CDs of original music and published a growing line of choral works. His songs are in the UU Hymnbooks and over four decades of travels he's visited more than 700 UU churches. One of the originators of the UU “Green Sanctuary” program, Jim also compiled the Earth and Spirit Songbook, an anthology of 110 songs of Earth by many contemporary composers.
