Water + Rocks: Wild Clay Workshop

Have you ever wondered about local Maine clay? Sign up for this workshop to learn about Maine’s native clay from its glacial origins to redware pottery. Led by E. Saffronia Downing, a residential fellow at the Lunder Institute for American Art, we will explore Maine’s local “blue clay,” learn how to use wild clay as a clay-body and surface treatment utilizing hand-building techniques, and create pottery from Maine’s native clay.
