Grief Yoga

August 30, 11:00 AM

Hospice Volunteers of Waterville Area is hosting a Yoga session in the garden on Wednesday morning, August 30 at 11:00am, 304 Main St., Waterville. Certified Yoga Teacher, Arleen King-Lovelace (RYT-200), will lead a session of Chair Yoga, for all levels, geared towards those grieving a significant loss of a loved one. When you grieve, your body produces extra amounts of stress hormones that can stun your muscles and joints. This can cause aches that may be constant or come and go, lasting from weeks to months. Grief Yoga uses movement, breath, and sound to help process the grief.  This type of yoga is less about flexibility or balance but more about building awareness.  It may help you find release in the areas of your body where you may be holding the pain from your loss or trauma. Chairs will be provided.  Please bring a beach towel or yoga mat if you would like to sit on the ground. To sign up, please call Jillian Roy at 873-3615 ext. 11 or jroy@hvwa.org.
