Library Closures

The Library will be closed on Monday, November 11th, for Veterans Day and on Thursday, November 28th, for Thanksgiving Day.

Appleton Street Celebration

The City of Waterville hosted a ribbon-cutting event on Friday, October 18, 2024, to celebrate Appleton Street's vibrant transformation! On a beautiful autumn afternoon, city staff and our neighbors came together to mark the completion of the Appleton Street Improvement Project.

This revitalization brought accessible parking, a new pocket park, improved walkability, and several other upgrades near the Waterville Public Library. This project is an exciting step forward in making the City's downtown area more welcoming and enjoyable for everyone!

A big thank you to all who joined in for this special celebration and those who helped make this project a reality.

Trunk or Treat Downtown Success

Thousands visited our Chicka Chicka Boom Boom crew for the City of Waterville's 1st annual Nightmare on Main Street on Saturday, October 26, 2024! Information about Library programs and services was shared along with some candy (of course!). Celebrating Halloween with so many partners, neighbors, visitors, and friends was fabulous! We look forward to next year!

Nosh & Knock Off Mystery Event

Oh, what a night! Our Nosh & Knock Off Mystery Theater Fundraising event on Saturday, October 26, 2024, was a smashing success! We are profoundly grateful for the beautiful, generous creatives and others who made this unique treasure of an event possible! 200+ people shared a magical evening at and for the Waterville Public Library. Empowering people and strengthening the community is what it is all about! #whodunit #livetheater #librarylove

Neighborhood Forest Outcomes

We recently received a lovely update from Neighborhood Forest. SO MANY patrons have picked up a tree from Waterville Public Library, and we are very excited to share this news!

"A Google Map shows where all your trees have been planted since you joined our program in 2022. Between you and Vassalboro Community School, you have planted over 400 trees across the Waterville region! Thank you for helping us grow the forest and spread more joy, beauty, and goodness in the world!"
