DEI Micro-Grant Funding

United Way of Kennebec Valley (UWKV) offers a Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) micro-grants opportunity to nonprofit 501(c)(3) organizations, public school districts, municipal entities, and Indian Tribal governments. Organizations without 501(c)(3) status may also apply if they have a formal fiscal sponsorship with an established 501(c)(3).

Grant requests should range between $500 and $1,000 and must support events or marketing initiatives aimed at improving accessibility and/or educating the community on diversity, equity, and inclusion. UWKV intends to offer this micro-grant program annually through at least 2027.

Applications will be accepted on a rolling basis and reviewed monthly. Once 2025 funds are fully allocated, the application process for this cycle will close.

UWKV’s VolunteerME

Looking for volunteer opportunities? UWKV partners with local business sponsors to facilitate annual student Day of Caring events with schools across Kennebec County. UWKV also supports the entire region's community service efforts through VolunteerME, a free, easy-to-use website that can help you, your staff, and/or your students find local volunteer opportunities that match talents, interests, and schedules.

Looking for volunteers? UWKV invites nonprofits to add their organization to the VolunteerME Kennebec Valley website. This resource provides a space for your organization to post volunteer opportunities and connect with local individuals looking to serve their community. To date, UWKV has over 1,000 individuals registered to the site. Please use this link to register your nonprofit organization. Once your registration is approved, you will have access to begin posting opportunities.
