Kennebec Behavioral Health announces 2026 Scholarship recipients

Kennebec Behavioral Health (KBH) is pleased to announce its 2026 College Scholarship Fund recipients for the upcoming school year. This year, the following students will receive a $1,000 scholarship upon successful completion of their first semester at their chosen college or university. Each of these students will be pursuing a major in a field related to behavioral health.

The 2026 scholarship recipients are:

  • Caitlyn Cameron of Cony High School will attend the University of Maine Farmington to study Psychology.
  • Eliyah Ames of Maranacook High School will attend Assumption University to study Neuroscience.
  • Morgan Hersey of Mt. Blue High School will attend Husson University to study Psychology.
  • Audrey Watts of Skowhegan High School will attend the University of Maine Orono to study Psychology.
  • Delia Vaughan of Waterville Senior High School will attend the University of Maine Farmington to study Social Work/Psychology.
  • Olivia (Astra) Cutten of Winslow High School will attend the University of Maine Farmington to study Social Work/Psychology.
  • Abigail McCarty of Mt. Abram Regional High School will attend the University of Maine Augusta to pursue a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).
  • Kobe Sherwood of Monmouth Academy will attend Wheaton College to study Psychology.

KBH believes that investing in the education and training of individuals who will become future behavioral health professionals is critically important. Workforce development specific to mental health and substance use disorder care is key to ensuring that our communities will be able to receive the health care and supports they deserve.

Those interested in supporting the KBH College Scholarship Fund are invited to attend A Night Out of Dueling Pianos, KBH’s annual fundraiser, on October 9, 2026, in Waterville. Tickets for this event will go on sale soon at www.kbhmaine.org/anightout/. This event directly supports scholarship opportunities for the next generation of behavioral health professionals.
