Sunrise Creative Youth Theatre
“Sunrise Creative Youth Theatre works to give youth a space where they can freely create. As a collective, we write and produce original theater with the goal of showcasing the talents and ideas of our members.”
Sunrise Creative holds meetings every Saturday via Zoom! Theatre Group meets 10am – 11am and Peer Support begins at 11am.
Pop in at your leisure and share with us! Both groups are a safe, inclusive space open to queer youth and their allies in grades 6-12, college students, and college-aged adults.

A little more about us!
Sunrise Creative Youth Theatre (SCYT) has four major programs:
Original Productions
Each year, Sunrise Creative Youth Theatre creates and performs an original production. It is written during Theatre Group and those who attend collaboratively write and create the play.
Summer Theatre Camp (on hold)
Sunrise Creative Youth Theatre conducts two 3-week summer theatre camps for students in grades 4-12. In summer 2019, Sunrise Creative put on it’s first original musical! The campers collaboratively write a play, develop their characters, and learn about and/or participate in all technical aspects of a production.
Peer Support
This is a safe space to share aspects of yourself with others. Topics range from school and life experiences, personal celebrations and struggles, and especially our creative works such as poetry, art pieces, or other writings. Peer support consists of activities such as board or card games, video games, baking, painting and more.
Workshops & Technical Assistance
Sunrise Creative Youth Theatre conducts theatre-based and creative workshops at statewide and national conferences at least three times a year. We have facilitated workshops for faith-based organizations, public school and college faculty and students, and community organizations.
