Hadith Bani-Adam and Friends: Somali-American Music
November 16, 2017, 7:30 PM
FreeHadith Bani-Adam, a Somali refugee living in Lewiston, Maine, is one of a few younger Somalis playing the oud in the traditional style and singing older poetic songs of his native land. He is also a prolific composer, whose songs deal with the heartache of war and the resulting fallout. Greg Boardman, viola, and Ness Smith-Savedoff, hand percussion, will bring their eclectic backgrounds of traditional and progressive music to the mix.
