REM Community Volunteer Awards

The community is invited to the REM Partner Community Volunteer Awards Ceremony at the Waterville Opera House.  Sixty three REM Partner organizations will gather to honor exemplary volunteers representing 13 local organizations.

     FREE – Donations welcomed

 The community is invited to join in the fun and honor with their attendance the community nonprofit organizations and exemplary volunteers which directly and powerfully affect our quality of life.  A Power Point presentation created by Jackie Dalton, REM Co-Executive Director, will be projected larger than life on the Waterville Opera House screen providing a rare opportunity for the community to get to know the work of the organizations and honorees being honored.

The talented area citizens who will pay tribute to the honorees by providing the evening's entertainment will include the Maine-ly Harmony women's a cappella group, the Students and Faculty of Pineland Suzuki School at Snow Pond Community Music School and David Deas on guitar accompanying vocalist Maureen Vashon.  Three of the organizations Executive Directors, Betty Palmer of the Mid-Maine Homeless Shelter, Susan Roy of Hospice Volunteers of Waterville Area and Faye Nicholson of REM will add to the entertainment with a presentation of their own.

The REM Partner Community Directory for 2016 will be premiered at the Award celebration and all who attend will receive a copy.

A reception will follow to which all who attend the REM Awards are invited.  The reception is a good opportunity for family, friends, co-workers and neighbors  to greet the honorees and thank them for their volunteer gifts of time and talent to the Mid-Maine community.
