REM Award Honorees (2009) — Five Hospice Volunteers
This year there are five volunteers who will represent Hospice Volunteers of Waterville Area (HVWA) and the realm of free services HVWA offers to residents of all ages in twenty-seven communities. These volunteers help provide end-of-life care, grief support services, complementary care and community outreach and education. In addition they help with behind the scenes fundraising, office support and administration. These five volunteers being honored at the REM awards ceremony represent all HVWA Volunteers who help keep our wheels turning!!
Hospice Volunteers of Waterville Area is proud to honor:
- Katharina Burdet of Belgrade, class of 1999 is a Regional Volunteer Coordinator, and a Camp Ray of Hope and Complementary Care Volunteer. She also represents HVWA to the Belgrade town government during the town solicitation process.
- Marilyn Pelletier of Waterville, class of 2006, is a Regional Volunteer Coordinator, Quality Assurance Committee member and office volunteer. Marilyn is vital to keeping our Hospice volunteer records current.
- Paul Drouin of Winslow, class of 2002, volunteers at Camp Ray of Hope, is a Direct Care and Bereavement Volunteer. He serves on the Board of Directors and is chairperson of the Swing for Hope and Hospice Golf Tournament.
- Gail Drake of Albion, class of 1991, is a Regional Volunteer Coordinator, and has consistently been a Direct Care Volunteer since 1991. She also represents HVWA to the Albion town government.
- Karen Andrews of Waterville, class of 2003, is a Hope’s Place and Camp Ray of Hope Volunteer and a member of the Camp Ray of Hope planning committee. She is also a member of the Hope’s Place training team and assists with Community Outreach and Education.
