Sustain Mid-Maine Coalition Forum

November 30, 2015, 6:30 PM9:00 PM

The Public Policy Team invites you to meet our area legislators on Monday, November 30 at 6:30 in the REM Forum Room (93 Main St., across from the Maine Made Shop).

Our purpose in hosting this meeting is to briefly share what Sustain Mid-Maine Coalition volunteers  have been able to accomplice in the intervening years, to acknowledge that we would not have been able to accomplish so much without the collective support of our legislators, and to share our hope that we can continue that productive relationship in the future.

The agenda will open with a brief statement of some key facts about the current state of action on climate change to provide a sense of context.   Following that, SMMC team leaders will provide a brief a sampling of the kinds of things that have been accomplished and how state legislation has been helpful in empowering us.  This will be following by hearing from legislators in attendance on their sense of some opportunities presented by the upcoming legislative session for further progress. We hope to leave time for questions and comments from the floor.

People who have been invited to attend:   Cathy Nadeau, Scott Cyrway; John Picchiotti, Tom Longstaff,  Henry Beck, Bob Nutting, Jeff McCabe, Tom Saviello, Larry Dunphy,  Roger Katz, and Laurie Fowle
