An Evening with Richard Blanco

February 27, 2018, 5:00 PM

Free

The museum’s Lunder Institute for American Art welcomes Richard Blanco, artist in residence and presidential inaugural poet. Blanco will read and discuss selections of his inspiring work centered on the meaning of home, including poems from his latest book, Boundaries, a collaborative project with landscape photographer Jacob Bond Hessler. Blanco’s poems and Hessler’s photographs together investigate the boundaries of race, gender, class, and ethnicity and challenge the dividing lines—both historical and current—that shadow America.

Reception at 5 p.m., William D. Adams Gallery, Colby College Museum of Art; reading at 6 p.m., Given Auditorium, Bixler Bldg.
