Carols in the Round
November 28, 2015 – November 29, 2015
FreeDirected by Dr. David Stevenson, the Mount View Chamber Singers are a 20-voice choir from Mount View High School in Thorndike. Each year during Advent, the ensemble present a series of hourlong, a capella concerts by candlelight in which the singers encircle the audience. Comprising Christmas carols and other seasonal songs from many lands and times, the selections vary from year to year, but never
fail to delight.
This year's 25th anniversary edition Carols in Round will have nearly 30 performances throughout eastern and central Maine, including five in the Waterville area. The dates and locations for the local concerts are:
- Saturday, November 28: Riverside Congregational Church, Corner of Cushnoc & Webber Pond Roads, Vassalboro.
- Sunday, November 29, 4:00 p.m.: Winslow Congregational Church, 12 Lithgow St., Winslow.
- Sunday, November 29, 7:00 p.m.: First Baptist Church, Corner of Elm & Park Streets, Waterville.
- Friday, December 4: United Methodist Church, 614 Main St. (Rte. 32), Vassalboro.
- Sunday, December 13: Kennebec Valley Baptist Church, 91 Marston Rd., Waterville.
Except for the Winslow performance, all the local concerts are at 7:00 and light refreshments will be available after most. Admission to all performances is free; donations are accepted.
