Certified Hospice Volunteer Training

FreeIf you are interested in sharing 2-4 hours a week with individuals and family members who are facing a life threatening illness, certified hospice volunteer training with Hospice Volunteers of Waterville Area may be the course for you. After training, your support may include:
- Companionship
- Letterwriting
- Life review
- Reading
- Compassionate listening
- Respite for caregiver
- Bereavement support for family members
You can make living each day a gift. Our 20 hour training will run:
Saturday – October 1st, 8th, 15th 8:30-12:30pm
Monday - October 3rd & 10th 5:30-8:30pm
Wednesday - October 5th & 12th 5:30-8:30pm
A pre-training interview is required. There is a $30 training fee, scholarships are available. All trainings are held at the Hospice Community Center, 304 Main St, Waterville.
Hospice Volunteers Mission Statement
Hospice Volunteers of Waterville Area serves 27 communities in Central Maine. It exists to provide non-medical support to individuals and their families during the last phases of life, to loved ones throughout the grieving process, and to educate the community on issues related to death and grieving. Bereavement services are available to anyone who has sustained loss either through illness or unexpectedly. HVWA is volunteer-based and community funded.
