In 2017, the Maine Office of Tourism (MOT) contracted with Destinations International to conduct a statewide survey of Maine’s readiness as a world-class destination. Traveling all eight tourism regions, the survey examined, through self-evaluation, our destination health in terms of both community support and strength of the destination itself.

 

 
The Statewide results from this survey were recently presented at the Maine Governor’s Conference on Tourism by the managing director of Destination NEXT, Paul Ouimet. These results have also been calculated on a regional level for each of Maine’s eight tourism regions. 
 
This will be the one opportunity to hear how your region evaluated itself, to ask questions and to hear Paul’s recommendations on where your region needs to place its focus to move to the next level of competency in serving effectively as a tourism destination area.
 

Our regional Destination Next meeting will be held on June 7 from 9-11:30 at the Waterville Opera House.
