What are encaustics? How do artists use encaustics? What is the history of encaustics?

Understand more about the nature of this medium and how to layer, fuse and make a variety of marks in this seductive, molten-beeswax based painting material! Explore painterly approaches and how to etch, scrape and vary the surface in an array of techniques. Take your flat collections such as drawings, collected papers, pictures and embellish them into the wax. Leave with two finished works and completely inspired!
