The mission of the Horizon Program is to provide quality, compassionate, and comprehensive medical and social services to all identified people living with HIV/AIDS in central and mid-coast Maine. With offices in Gardiner and Augusta, the program provides:
- A clinic for medical services and interaction with health care professionals;
- Case management for people living with HIV/AIDS;
- Educational programs and community outreach;
- Counseling and support for people infected and affected by HIV/AIDS.
Incredible progress has been made in the fight against HIV/AIDS, but a cure has not been found. Every year there are still 50,000 new HIV/AIDS cases nationwide and we need to continue to raise awareness to prevent this disease.
Whether it is a friend, parent, child, relative or significant other, many people are touched by HIV/AIDS. We walk to pay tribute to those loved ones who have died and support those who are living with this disease.
