The Book Club Play
November 14, 2014 – November 16, 2014
There really were book clubs before Oprah’s. Really.
Ana likes everyone to think her life is perfect; from her adoring husband and ideal job, to her greatest passion: Book Club. As hostess, she rules the group with an iron fist in a velvet-cake glove. BUT she does allow everyone to take a turn selecting books and leading the discussion, so it’s the perfect Book Club. Or is it? Now, the world will know about her perfect Book Club, because Ana has signed them up to be part of a documentary.
As the months and books go by, the group’s dynamic is shaken to the core when Alex, a new “probationary” member, threatens Ana’s dictatorship and, the unblinking eye of the camera catches EVERYTHING!
A delightful play about life, love, literature, and the side-splitting results when friends start reading between the lines.
