The Life and Death of Queen Margaret
The Life and Death of Queen Margaret is a dance-theater performance which tells the life story of Margaret of Anjou — a fierce, strong-willed, and independent woman who was both an historical figure and also one of Shakespeare's greatest characters. Her rise to leadership and subsequent downfall, portrayed through bitingly relevant and alarmingly prescient 400-year-old texts, hold a necessary mirror up to our modern society. Co-created and directed by Visiting Assistant Professor Toby Vera Bercovici, this play combines full scenes from Shakespeare with a patchwork of Shakespearean verse from other plays and original passages by the adaptors. Real Live Theatre's The Life and Death of Queen Margaret features an all-female cast of eight.
