REM Award Honorees (2012) — Scott Vanderveer (Spectrum Generations)

Spectrum Generations is proud to honor Scott “Scottie” Vanderveer its 2012 Volunteer of the Year!

Scottie’s desire to give back to the community started over 20 years ago, when he began volunteering under the Nutrition Program at the Muskie Center. From packing Meals on Wheels to delivering the meals, Scottie plays an integral role in the kitchen. He is dependable and reliable, volunteering full days Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays, because, he says, “It makes me feed good that I am doing something good for the community.”

A native of Waterville, Scottie is an avid sports fan who takes annual trips with his father to see 4-5 baseball games during a weeklong tour to different cities. The staff and consumers at the Muskie Center thank Scottie for his dedication and his “can do” attitude and enjoy having him as part of their team.
