REM Award Honorees (2017) — Buddy and Punky Giggey (MaineGeneral Medical Center)

Every year, adults and teens come together and give thousands of hours to our medical center. Volunteers fulfill an important role in MaineGeneral’s mission to provide the very best care in our community.

Clayton and Mildred “Buddy and Punky” Giggey have been volunteering with MaineGeneral Medical Center’s Thayer Center for Health for 2½ years and given more than 1,200 hours of service. Patients and staff alike share that the Giggeys are a warm and friendly presence at the Welcome Desk, quick to make conversation with visitors and extremely helpful in their volunteer role. MaineGeneral is very fortunate to have them! The Giggeys truly represent the 449 volunteers who dedicated time, talent and compassion over the past year at MaineGeneral.

MaineGeneral Medical Center is proud to honor ALL its volunteers! To learn more about MaineGeneral’s volunteer program, please visit us at www.mainegeneral.org.
