REM Award Honorees (2018) — Steve Cilley (Alfond Youth Center)
When a parent and child enter Toddler Time in the mornings at the Alfond Youth Center, one of the first people they meet here is volunteer Steve Cilley.
He has been an important part of Toddler Time for more than five years. Not a week goes by when Steve isn’t there making a difference and getting to know the children in our program.
Steve knows all the children and families who frequent Toddler Time and you can see how excited they are when they come through the door and he is waiting to greet them. You can often find Steve snuggled up with a newborn in Adventure Playland walking and talking with them giving the Mom a perfectly timed chance to catch up with her friends or spend some time with her older children bouncing and playing.
Steve is a crucial part of our Toddler Time program and it is easy to see that he loves the volunteer work he does here.
