REM Award Honorees (2002) — Nicole Etchie (Mid-Maine Chamber of Commerce)
Nicole Anne Etchie was born on September 24, 1987 in Waterville. She now lives in Sidney with her mom and dad, Joan and Matthew Levesque. She is 15 years old and is expecting a little brother or sister in February. She is sophomore at Messalonskee High School, where she has a role in the school’s upcoming presentation of a Mid Summer Night’s Dream. She loves art and is currently taking three art classes.
Earlier this year, Nicole traveled to San Diego, California, where her dad was working for four months. She has also traveled to Maryland, Washington, DC, and Florida. She plans to visit Italy in the future.
Also, in her future, she plans to attend a four-year college for cinematography or interior/architectural design. She would also like to take photography lessons. She has a big passion for pictures.
In her spare time, Nicole likes to read, draw, download music, and do photo editing on the computer. She also likes designing CD covers for her CDs.
Nicole’s volunteering history includes helping at a daycare when she was 11 and working in the kitchen at the Alfond Youth Center over her seventh grade summer. For many years, she has been helping out at the Mid-Maine Chamber of Commerce. Her tasks have included organizing information, helping at the Home and Garden Show, helping with many bulk mailings of newsletters, and performing various other jobs. She really enjoys helping in any way she can.
