Groundhog Day

February 2, 2019, 1:00 PM2:00 PM

$1 – $3

While the Groundhog Day tradition may not be an especially accurate method of weather forecasting (especially in Maine), we are still excited for an opportunity to talk about the noble groundhog, Marmota Monax. Also known as a woodchuck or whistlepig, its association with the arrival of spring comes from the fact that it is a TRUE hibernator! Come learn more about this remarkable creature, and have your picture taken with our taxidermy groundhog, Gertrude!

Admission: $3 for adults, $1 for children.
