Squirrel Appreciation Day
January 18, 2020, 1:00 PM – 2:00 PM
$1 – $3National Squirrel Appreciation Day — it’s actually on January 21, but we will celebrate it on the preceding Saturday — is a day to learn about and celebrate the world’s cutest rodents. We might generally look at squirrels as being an unnecessary nuisance, but their existence is actually beneficial to the environment, and in urban areas, assists in park beautification. Be it by accident, squirrels plant seeds (initially meaning to store away nuts to come back to when they’re hungry) which eventually grow into trees, thus assisting with forest renewal. They’re natures gardeners! Come learn about squirrels, feel their soft pelt, look at their rodent teeth and make a squirrel craft to take home.
Admission: $3 for adults, $1 for children.
