REM Award Honorees (2002) — Dona Thebarge (Rape Crisis Assistance and Prevention)

Rape Crisis is proud to honor Dona Thebarge for her work with us over the past four years. Dona has served as a compassionate and patient volunteer advocate. She is always ready to fill in when volunteers are scarce, taking extra shifts. Her sense of humor is a joy to all of us and helps us in our work.

Dona is always there. She attends every meeting called and helps with all of our major events including our annual winter program, our annual bean supper, and Moonlight Madness.

Dona’s husband and family will be attending tonight and Rape Crisis extends our thanks to them for sharing Dona with us. That Dona has been able to help so many survivors is partly due to her family’s patience and willingness to sacrifice.

Note: Unfortunately, due to a lack of funding, Rape Crisis Assistance and Prevention closed for good on December 31, 2008.
