REM Award Honorees (2008) — Kim Nashed (Maine Children’s Home)
The Maine Children’s Home for Little Wanderers is pleased to honor Kim Nashed as its REM Volunteer Award Recipient for 2008.
Kim has volunteered at the Maine Children’s Home since 1999, concentrating most of her effort on the Christmas Program, which provides Christmas gifts to 1400 needy children, and with the Waterville Friends of the Maine Children’s Home, a group of dedicated people who support the Maine Children’s Home through fundraising and volunteering.
Whether choosing just the right Christmas gifts for a needy child, pricing items for the Friends’ yard sale, or walking in our annual Walk for Camp, Kim does so with a calm and cheerful attitude. Her intelligence and thoughtfulness are always evident in her comments and suggestions and she has become a very valuable member of our team.
