REM Awards (2001) — Delta Ambulance — Harvey DeVane
Harvey joined the Delta Ambulance Board of Directors as a Community Representative in January 1995. Since that time he has held the position of Secretary/Treasurer and served two years as President of the Board. A life long resident of Maine, Harvey graduated from the University of Maine at Orono and attended the John F. Kennedy School of Government, Harvard University for Senior Government Executives. He is currently the Maine Health Care Association’s Workers’ Compensation Fund Administrator.
Harvey has chaired the Governor’s Special Task Force on Heating Oil Prices and Fuel Shortages, the Governor’s Private Sector Management Task Force, and the Governor’s Special Task Force on Highway and Bridge Funding. He is also a member of the Gardiner Historical Preservation Commission and is the author or Maine’s first instructional handbook for members of occupational and professional licensing Boards and commissions.
His interests include American and Maine history, music, fine and performing arts and fishing. Harvey and his wife Lynn reside in Gardiner.
