REM Award Honorees (2017) — Cheryl Flewelling (United Way of Mid-Maine)
Cheryl Flewelling is truly a powerhouse for United Way of Mid-Maine. Respected Client Services Director at Kennebec Wealth Management, Cheryl is a long-time, dedicated supporter of United Way, and Living United. Having served on the finance committee of UW for many years, the segue into board membership and subsequently to board chair was a logical one.
Bringing her depth of experience to UWMM, as current Chair of the Board, Cheryl energizes and inspires Board and Staff as we work together to build an ever-stronger United Way for an ever-stronger community.
Speaking to Cheryl, you quickly realize her joy and excitement in life are her family — husband Rusty and sons Dylan and Ryan — and her community: “Volunteering for United Way has been extremely fulfilling. There is no greater reward than being able to make a difference in the life of another person, family, or the community. The work that is being done by so many volunteers for the betterment of our community is amazing, energizing, and contagious.”
Always open to new hobbies, some of her current favorite pastimes are watching her boys play sports, making maple syrup, genealogy, quilting, gardening, snowshoeing, snowmobiling, kayaking, trying out new home-brew recipes, and doing as many of the above with friends as possible!
In honor of her leadership, focus, engagement, and enthusiastic support, United Way of Mid-Maine is delighted to see Cheryl Flewelling receive this recognition!
