Joseph B. Ezhaya and Bill & Joan Alfond Family Scholarships (Updated)

The Mid-Maine Chamber of Commerce is pleased to provide two scholarship opportunities for eligible students. Each scholarship is for $750 per year for up to four years and will be given upon completion of the first semester of each college year with a grade point of 2.0 or better.
Joseph B. Ezhaya Memorial Scholarship Award
Joe Ezhaya was a community leader who distinguished himself with his warmth, enthusiasm, generosity, and particularly, his friendships. Successful candidates for this scholarship should share Joe's interest in citizenship, and community service and exemplify his spirit and vitality.
This scholarship will be awarded to a deserving student currently attending a Mid-Maine Chamber area high school: Lawrence, Winslow, Mt. View, Waterville, Messalonskee, MCI, Erskine, Temple Academy, Maine Arts Academy or Good Will-Hinckley.
To be considered, applicants must meet the following criteria:/p>
- Must maintain an academic average of a "C" or better.
- Must complete a single page written addressing:
- What civic, and extracurricular service accomplishments have I made to be deserving of this award?
- What are my future plans and ambitions?
- Must show evidence of community service and involvement.
- Include a copy of your high school transcript.
- Must be enrolled in an accredited New England College or University.
Bill & Joan Alfond Family Scholarship Award
This scholarship will be awarded to a deserving student from either Waterville Senior High School, Messalonskee High School, Lawrence High School, Winslow High School, the Maine Academy of Natural Sciences, or the Glenn Stratton Learning Center at Good Will-Hinckley.
Applicants must meet and follow the same submission criteria as the Joseph B. Ezhaya Memorial Scholarship Award.
